An Atheism related podcast hosted by a guy and his cat. I cover news stories and read from the Biblical Apocrypha as well as fend off attacks from my cat.
Episode 32 Everybody Gets to Go to Hell!

Two chapters from Doane this week.  Chapter 21 on the Darknes at the Crucifixtion, and Chapter 22 on Jebus' Descent into Hell.  With added bonus of hearing me froth at the mouth over a religion which condemns even its most ardent followers to damnation because reasons.

Show notes can be found here.

In this episode, I discuss the book "The Auschwitz Volunteer" by Witold Pilecki, which cronicles his attempt to take control of the camp at Auschwitz during WWII.

The news stories I cover include Israel arrest Jewish extremist group, Thailand under attack by jihadists (who also like the bars and prostitutes), massive ancient Egyptian burial site discovered, astronauts on the ISS give their new 3D printer a whirl, cricket bats as an instrument of terror, Missouri politician takes a page from the Saudi playbook, Florida forced to allow gays to get married next month, TN town fails to understand the internet, and a listener's email.

Episode 0030 Hangin' With the Big J!

Its a long one.  Sorry about that.  You can find the show notes for this episode here.  I think from now on, I'm just going to do a hard out at 1 hour of recording time, because its really tiring for me to record and then edit such a long episode.  It took me a couple of hours just to edit this thing down, whereas if I cut it off at the hour mark, it only takes about 2 hours to edit the podcast.

Anyway, this episode deals with the crucifixion of Christ and compares it to those of other gods.

Episode 0029 Blame Fuzznuts!

Sorry for the delay in getting this posted, but Professor Fuzznuts insisted on "helping" with this episode by sitting on the keyboard every time I tried to work on it.  Some of the news stories I cover are a Kenyan school using sewage to provide gas for cooking, the New Horizons probe wakes up, American preacher charged with crimes against humanity and more.  I'll have complete shownotes and links up tomorrow evening at  Assuming Fuzznuts cooperates and doesn't try to help me again.

Episode 0028 40 Wasted Days and Wasted Nights

Sorry for the delay in getting this posted, I had a busy weekend, so I wasn't able to record at my usual time, and this threw me off.  I would like to give a big thanks to Tom and Cecil over at the Cognitive Dissonance podcast for playing my voicemail.

This episode covers chapter 19 of TW Doane's Bible Myths and Their Parallels in Other Religions, which deals with the significance of the number 40 in the Bible.  It also features me blathering a bit.  Check out the shownotes to see the winning artwork, and for an answer to my blathering about Venus and the number 40.

Episode 0026 Blue Genes and Baby Killin'

Here's the episode I promised, with not one, but TWO chapters from Doane's book.  Editing's a little rough on this one.  I'm a bit tired, but I wanted to get this up now, since I'd promised to post it on Sunday, and didn't get to it until now.  I'm dogged tired, so I'll get the show notes up tomorrow.

Episode 0025: Doctor Doctor Was Jebus the King of the Jews?

This episode features my interview with Dr. Robert M. Price of the Bible Geek Podcast and the Human Bible Podcast.  The audio quality isn't the best as we had to do the interview over the phone, but its not so bad that its hard to listen to.  Its a bit longer than the usual episode, but well worth a listen.  I'd like to thank Dr. Price again, for taking time out his schedule to do the interview.

Yup.  Still no internet.  AT&T is supposed to come out and hook up a connection on Tuesday, since Comcast can't be bothered to fix my problem.  We'll see how it goes.  Any way, this episode has me complaining about the local politics of the area.  At the end of the podcast I announce that I'm holding a contest for listeners.  Winner(s) get a dead tree edition of Doane's Bible Myths.  If my internet comes back on Tuesday, expect a news episode some time this week.
